The Making of BlakRoc.

...Shout-outs to the Peeps at ATCN:

Over the past few months there have been countless videos popping up across my beloved interweb featuring the newest flag waver for unity Dame Dash. Dash seems to repeatedly feel the need to enforce the fact that he has far from fallen off and continues to be a successful business man. If this BlakRoc project is anything to go by, the man could be onto something. Corny name aside, dude really has a stellar line up of artists including the resurrected and re-named Nikki Wray who was one of the many victims of the Rocafella break up (pour out some liquor for Rell and Allen Anthony) It would seem as though Mr.Dash is really going in.

Tinie Tempah. "Pass Out". [Video]

Hey World:
-Well Really the US, and that's the problem. We need to expand our horizons from our NY and LA shore-views until they cross the oceans and pick up on some new material in foreign nations. That's what happened to me two summers ago when by way of chance i found out about Tinie Tempah. the UK Grime Scene seems to be growing bigger every day and is starting to make some noise - they just need a push to break into the US Hip-hop Monopoly. So here's the New Single-turned-Video from Tinie Tempah, From shore to shore. Enjoi!

FLashBacK: "Air Born"

One of my Fav artists with one of my Fav videos for 2009....The Kid Daytona ft. Bun-B. When I watch it, I keep thinking, "damn, Africa can get UP!" Props to his hops.
....only thing missing from the video is Spike Lee, LoL.
- here are some words about the video from the man behind the scenes, Derek Pike:

Last week I shot the Air Born video for The Kid Daytona featuring Bun B. The beat which is produced by 6th Sense has this real mellow floaty vibe to it so I knew I wanted to shoot the majority of this video with someone or something floating in midair. Since shooting in outerspace wasn’t in the budget, I had to settle for NYC. Luckily, Daytona knew someone here on earth that could defy gravity for us, EBC star Africa. We shot the whole video at a little park downtown, no permits. Aside from having to work around screaming kids at camp, and a basketball leagues scheduled game everything went surprisingly smooth. Daytona and Bun B are two of the nicest and most laid back artists I have ever worked with. Shout outs to the Three/21 fam Rik, Nancy and Steve, Jamal, Owen, Jordan at Sneaktip, Dan, Evan, and of course Daytona, Bun B, 6th and Africa.

Heather posted his sampler and included this message from him:

I really want you to digest it and listen and hopefully feel something afterwards. It’s been a long time coming, and the mixtape is on the way shortly after this. Thank you for riding with me."

Azie Speaks on "Paid In full" Movie

This has to be one of the Most crucial movies I've ever seen and also one of my favorites. here's some quotess on the interview with Gasface down in Harlem:

In the 80’s, kids already wanted to be like Mike. But some of them also looked up to AZ, Alpo or Rich… Guess what ? Most of them became rappers.

Azie and his partners lived the fast life in the 80’s, Jay-Z and Dame Dash made a movie about it in 2002.

Now 46, Azie sits in his X6 and reflects on his past in the game, why he never really liked crack, his sister’s boyfriend, nor the outcome of his Roc-A-Fella biopic, “Paid in Full”.

Snowman Talk from Gasface on Vimeo.

Still sitting in the latest BMW spaceship, Azie discusses his former trade: having friends killing friends, market-sharing with older G’s, and venturing into italian territory.

Mobstyle’s frontman also talks Hip Hop, from the era when rappers made girls flee, to the time when one of ‘em scoop the badest R&B chick while claimin he’s “the twin brother of Rich Porter”…

Looks like things done changed, except one: rappers dreamin to be somebody they ain’t.

Oddly enough, this interview takes place in Sugar Hill, right by the school where Rich’s real bro got snatched.

We See You Jockin Azie !!! (Snowman Talk Part.2) from Gasface on Vimeo.

SHOUT-OUTS to Media Gasface and 2dopeboyz fro the hook-up.

FLashBacK: "Floss Angeles"

I remember Watching this video on DJ HYPHEN's The Audacity of Dope Blog this summer and it really took me back to those CA Days in the Summer visiting Fam' down there before they left. I know this video hits harder than others, so shout-outs to the Homie Mike Fuji reppin' that 909 and all the other NorCal and SoCal people I know. Here's a little bit on the Video:

Take a tour of LA from the comfort of ya own home as u ride with El Prez and The Fresh Coast Collective aka the FCC, featuring a who’s who of LA upcoming talent in this rap “renaissance” we got poppin over here, and produced by Axel…it’s the Soundtrack to an Endless Summer!

Off his upcoming project, “Animal Style!”, a (2)DopeBoyz Presentation in conjunction with IM-King Clothing and more, rapper El Prez is giving people a taste of what LA has to offer with the perfect soundtrack for the summer. Produced by Axel, “Floss Angeles” features fellow FCC rappers Convinced, Dale Danja, DNEZ, Chris Focus, and C-San, who along with El Prez, act as “guides” for these Hip hop tourists…consider it “how to survive in south central” 09!

...and with that, I bring you El Prez ft. The FCC: Floss Angeles.

The Come UP: Play Cloths

Now Playcloth's has been around for quite some time; these were the clothes, the name specialized in: creative wear for youngsters on the go. Things haven't change much, except now, you wouldn't dare go play tackle football on your Playthcloth gear. and that's the way they would rather have it. i good brands to keep your eye out for - too bad it didn't take the 'greats long. m

50. "Do You Think About Me" [Video]

=Peep this: its FINALLY OUT. finally dropping the video to another banger from late this year [really, 50 should stick to R&B joints, seems like his niche nowadays than gangsta rap]- oh wait; is That Vivica going CRAZY??!?? LoL.

What's Good with the people in the World? Mos Def knows. back with another single off "The Ecstatic" with crazy visuals - sucks its so short.

Here he is, dropping another single that blew up featuring himself and Drake, called, "Say Something"; this is one of the hits I bump in my phone mp3 right now so I'm ready for him to actually drop this video cause this making-of video of it looks pretty good.

...+ Timberland is clowning the whole video shoot too, LoL; Always entertaining.

If you haven't heard it yet, you gotta hear Lupe Fiasco's Freestyle on this beat as well; something dope to add to your Music collection for the year.

Lupe Fiasco, "Say Something" [Freestyle]

Gangsta Killers

Wow this is cool; Drake, Wale & Kid cudi [my twin for those who don't know] were all featured in the latest issue of Gentleman's Quarterly [a.k.a. "GQ" for those who STILL don't know!] this is my magazine! i get all my tips on on how to dress for success for every occasion!-BUT its always lacking diversity (Note: the most diversity it ihas is a Sean John ad lost with others in the front), so it was Good to see some up-and-coming brotha's get a little limelight in this coveted mag.

-OH, and you gotta love the title of the article, "Gangsta Killers"; the game is changing man, and it should be all for the best.

The Come UP: Dope Chef Currency

Their gear is just ~iLL~ dude; rocked from artists on the east coast of the US such as Jim Jones, to artists over seas, like the UK's own Tinie Tempah, a "pretty penny" can go a long way across the Mediterranean.
